Job summary

Hennepin County is seeking multiple Security Officers to protect employees and visitors across various county locations. Positions include paid training and ongoing professional development, with a shift differential for nights and weekends and a generous uniform allowance.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of college or technical college coursework in criminal justice or related field.
• Combination of related work experience and/or education to equal two years.
• May need Emergency Medical Responder or EMT certifications as required by MN EMSRB.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and customers.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis response within county facilities.
• Establish and maintain order; restrain uncooperative individuals when necessary.
• Operate security systems and complete required reports/logs.
• Conduct entry screening and checkpoint control.
• Provide front line customer service under challenging conditions.
• Stay current on laws, regulations, and security procedures.
