Job summary

Hennepin County is hiring Security Officers to protect employees and customers across multiple county locations. The positions include paid training and ongoing professional development, with new employee orientation in downtown Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework in criminal justice or related field is required.
• Ability to complete required probation training and EMT certifications as needed.
• Must be available for a fixed, seniority bid schedule including days and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and customers.
• Provide emergency response in county facilities as needed.
• Maintain order and restrain uncooperative individuals when necessary.
• Operate electronic and physical security systems and complete reports.
• Perform entry screening and checkpoint control.
• Deliver front-line customer service under challenging conditions.
• Stay current with applicable security laws and procedures.
