Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist in Norwalk, CT to ensure a welcoming guest experience while maintaining a safe store environment. You will greet guests, monitor security, and help prevent theft through physical controls and vigilant observation.

The role requires de-escalation skills and the use of surveillance systems, case management documentation, and collaboration with Assets Protection to protect guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other tech.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of remaining composed in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the front of store.
• Promote a physical security culture throughout the store.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
• Address guest issues to ensure a safe environment.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques when incidents occur.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and communicate trends to prevent loss.
• Submit documentation in the case management system per AP policy.
• Operate Target's video surveillance system.
• Maintain safety policies and train others as needed.
• Other duties as required by business needs.
