Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist in Oregon who will help keep guests, team members, and assets safe. The role emphasizes de-escalation, observation, and incident documentation, using video surveillance and handheld scanners as part of daily duties.

You will greet guests, assist with needs, and uphold AP policies while working a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. A high school diploma and state licensure compliance are required. Starting pay is $20.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
• Greet guests at 10ft and 4ft with a warm, helpful interaction.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Use de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support.
• Prevent theft by checking receipts and recognizing trends.
• Submit documentation in the case management system per AP policy.
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies and training.
