Job summary

The Immediate Office of the Chief of Naval Operations seeks a Security Specialist in the Security Branch to safeguard information and personnel within the Navy's security program. This federal role requires demonstrated expertise at the GS-11 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities include applying security policies, supporting inspections, and coordinating with DISS/NBIS systems to maintain a robust security posture.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of specialized Federal service experience at GS-11 or equivalent.
• Familiarity with personnel vetting systems (DISS/NBIS).
• Experience with industrial security concepts including DD Form 254s and DoW contracts.
• Ability to participate in internal security inspections and audits.

SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY BRANCH of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Maintaining working knowledge of and experience with personnel‑vetting systems, including the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS);
• Demonstrating familiarity with industrial security, including experience with MPICAM and reviewing DoW contracts and DD Form 254s;
• Conducting or assisting with internal inspections as part of the OPNAV Security Inspection Team;
