Job summary

BronxWorks is seeking a full-time Security Guard to help maintain a safe, secure environment across our facilities in New York. The role includes access control, regular foot patrols, enforcing policies, and reporting incidents.

You will support clients and staff, liaise with supervisors, and handle shift assignments to ensure smooth operations. Qualified candidates will hold NYS Security Guard Registration, 16-hour training, First Aid/CPR, Fire Department Fitness Certification for Fire Guard,

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security of the premises and perform access control.
• Perform regular and frequent foot patrol of the entire facility.
• Enforce facility, BronxWorks, and Department of Homeless Services policies.
• Promptly advise appropriate supervisors of problems or concerns.
• Schedule daily assignments for subordinates, monitor their performance.
• Complete Safety Monitor performance evaluations, progress reports, disciplinary memos, and shift assignments.
• Interact with all clients in a professional and productive manner.
• Supervise shift, overseeing and performing crisis intervention and addressing operational problems.
• Schedule daily and weekly assignments and monitor functions, and participate in rotation of task assignments.
• Perform special assignments and shift specific responsibilities as assigned, assuring provision of services and compliance with regulations and policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
