Job summary

City of Glendale (AZ) is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee security personnel, enforce regulations, and ensure safe operations across City facilities. You will lead scheduling, timekeeping, and training, with responsibility for alarms, access control, and reporting.

A strong background in security or law enforcement is required. The role requires supervisory experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a security officer, police officer, or military police officer.
• One year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Equivalent mix of education, training and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and evaluates the work of personnel in the Security Units of the Police Department or the Security Division of the Water Services Department.
• Determines workload analysis; schedules personnel, tracks and processes timekeeping information.
• Monitors fire, panic, and access control alarms.
• Issues Employee ID and Access Control Cards, and oversees access control systems.
• Gathers and prepares statistical reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis as required.
• Resolves and handles complaints.
• Determines effective resolutions to problems related to security.
• Plans, prioritizes and assigns work schedules to all duty posts.
• May receive and investigate security related incidents and write reports to management.
• May operate a portable radio to maintain contact with staff and other agencies.
• Operates city vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
