Job summary

The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is seeking a Security Services Officer to patrol the building, parking lots, and grounds and to safeguard property, patrons, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include first response to library service requests, conducting routine rounds by vehicle or on foot, and monitoring entrances during shift changes. Flexibility for evenings and overnight hours is required, with equal emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of security experience.
• Pass criminal background and drug screen.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; running may be required.
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnight, and weekends as required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides first response to Library customer service including handling patron requests and building directions.
• Makes routine rounds of the building and grounds by vehicle or by foot.
• Responds to building alarm notices.
• Monitors entrances during shift changes.

The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is seeking an organized and proactive Security Services Officer. The Security Services Officer will patrol the building, parking lots and grounds to ensure security and prevent damage to or loss of company and employee property. She/he will also assist in securing the safety of the Library's property, patrons, visitors, and staff.

What We Require for the Security Services Officer Role:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security
• Ability to pass a criminal background and drug screen.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; running may be required to address and report emergency incidents.
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnight, and weekends as required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience & Credentials:

• Military or law enforcement experience

Key Job Responsibilities:
