Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an expert Security Technician for field service in San Jose, CA. You will respond to service calls, diagnose and repair access control and IP camera systems, and perform fiber terminations. This role requires independence and the ability to lead others on projects in the Bay Area.

The position is contract-to-hire with typical Monday–Friday schedules, travel within the Bay Area, and a fully onsite work environment. 8–10 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant security, CCTV, access control, or fiber experience.
• Ability to run service work independently and mentor others.

• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot customer issues.
• Diagnose and repair access control systems.
• Service and troubleshoot IP and analog/coax camera systems.
• Perform fiber terminations, panel work, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Handle customer-facing service requests independently.
• Support installations on larger projects when needed.
• Work with junior technicians when extra manpower is required.
• Communicate with customers and provide professional service support.

Work Environment & Schedule

Monday-Friday

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Report to office daily to pick up company vehicle

No take‑home van required

Typical travel throughout the Bay Area

Occasional travel up to approximately 2 hours from the office

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
