Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking a Security Service Technician in the New York area to service and support existing customers. You will respond to service calls, perform maintenance, and work on small projects as part of a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate has strong customer focus, solid technical background in electronic security systems, and will travel locally to sites. This full-time role offers growth within a company culture that values integrity and results.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: 5–7 years servicing and programming access control systems.
• Preferred: CCTV, access control, and intrusion experience with major platforms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Respond to routine service calls, diagnose issues, repair, and install projects as needed.
• Complete accurate service reports to support invoicing and cost tracking.
• Travel locally to jobsites; maintain a customer-focused service mindset.

What you’ll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

• Act as "our customer’s best service provider" at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
• Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
• Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Advanced technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
• Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• To be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Relevant field service
• CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec
• Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2
• Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch

Pay Range: $39-$42/HR USD
