TEKsystems in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an experienced IT Specialist for a contract role. You will install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in stand-alone and client-server environments with emphasis on Cisco networks and security compliance.

The position requires strong end-user support, network device expertise, and a multi-year background with IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT. Onsite work with competitive hourly pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years IT experience incl IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT.
• Enterprise network design and troubleshooting experience.
• Clearance and relevant security certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customer to understand environment, context, and direction.
• Define scope, plans and deliverables for projects.
• Collect and organize IT requirements.
• Coordinate with team to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
• Prepare system documentation and security controls.
• Perform Tier III upgrades and troubleshooting of networking and IT systems.
• Monitor performance using metrics and drive improvements.
• Ensure business continuity and proper IT operations.
