Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking an On-Site Cable Technician to support U.S. Army and DoD operations in Virginia.

You will perform site management, O&M for infrastructure, inside/outside plant, and copper/fiber cable installations, with a focus on reliability and security in a classified environment. The role requires an associate degree or higher, at least one year of ISP/OSP cable experience, Confined Space training, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher.
• Minimum of one year ISP/OSP cable experience.
• Must complete Confined Space Training and have the ability to enter underground enclosures.
• Fluent in English with IT terminology for information technology, network routing and switching, telecommunications, IT maintenance, and technical control facilities.

Responsibilities

• Support customer telephone requirements including responding to service requests, isolation and repair of telephone troubles.
• Process requests for moves, adds, and changes utilizing the TMS.
• Maintain all network cabling infrastructure, network equipment, voice, video, data systems and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain files for all completed work requests.
• Maintain, install, remove, and move all instruments, service lines, and LAN service associated with ATS and IT services.
• Install, remove, and move connectors, terminators, and unused cable back to the demarcation.
