Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard Virtua facilities in New Jersey. You will patrol, monitor cameras and access points, and respond to emergencies while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, patients, vendors and staff.

You will document incidents, coordinate with nursing and security teams, verify staff IDs, and assist with maintenance issues. Requires HS diploma and CPR/SORA certifications preferred, valid driver's license, and at least 2 years security

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in security preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to use small hand tools.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform security duties at assigned posts, including mobility rounds and traffic control.
• Monitor doors, cameras, and alarms when required.
• Use health system technology to manage visitor control, input and output data, investigations, incident reports and shift logs.
• Communicate effectively with division team members, officer-in-charge, immediate supervisor, Nursing Supervisor and security teams.
• Escort visitors, vendors, patients and staff as needed within and outside facilities and parking lots.
• Prepare written reports of security incidents and check systems and equipment health.
• Verify staff IDs and ensure proper visitor IDs and badges.
• Address maintenance issues or escalate to Plant Engineering as needed.
• Respond to emergencies such as CODE GREY and CODE RED and hazardous spills.
