Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a senior engineering leader to head the Security Platform team, building and operating secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and PKI across the Global Cloudflare network. You will guide design, implementation, and operations while mentoring engineers and shaping long-term roadmap.

The role requires deep security and distributed systems expertise, strong communication, and a track record of leading high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing teams of engineers
• Strong background in security engineering and distributed systems design
• Cryptography background and ability to work with cryptosystems
• Experience with open source security or distributed systems projects
• Familiarity with Vault or similar secrets-management tooling
• Proficiency with Go and/or Python; Salt experience a plus
• Experience with hardware security modules and trusted execution environments

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Security Platform team responsible for secrets management and internal PKI
• Own long-term roadmap and day-to-day execution; review designs, plans, and code
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver secure, resilient systems across the network
• Mentor engineers and support career development; perform performance and compensation planning as needed
• Occasional on-call duties outside standard hours to address critical issues
