Job summary

Glocomms is partnered with a technology-driven organization seeking a Security Engineering Lead to define and build the future of security within a highly scaled engineering environment. The role is hybrid with onsite NYC three days per week, requiring a hands-on security leader who codes and mentors.

You will drive secure-by-default architectures, develop security platforms, and collaborate with senior engineers to deliver secure software at scale across cloud-native systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or security engineering with leadership experience.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Java, C#, or Rust.
• Experience designing and building production-grade systems at scale.
• Deep understanding of secure coding, threat modeling, software supply chain security, and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on security in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, IaC, and developer platforms.
• Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, cryptography, identity security, and Zero Trust.
• Demonstrated ability to automate security controls and integrate security into engineering workflows.
• Track record of influencing engineering organizations and partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/Cybersecurity or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of security platforms, services, and frameworks integrated into the SDLC.
• Partner with engineering leadership to establish secure-by-default architecture patterns across cloud-native systems.
• Build scalable security automation using APIs, IaC, and policy-as-code frameworks.
• Drive security initiatives across application, platform, cloud, and software supply chain security.
• Develop internal tools and services to improve developer experience while reducing security risk.
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security design consultations for critical products.
• Advance container, Kubernetes, and cloud security across microservices environments.
• Lead adoption of emerging security technologies including AI-assisted security operations and runtime protection.
• Mentor engineers and security practitioners while establishing standards and best practices.
• Serve as a senior technical voice during security incidents with root-cause analysis and long-term improvements.
