Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Vulnerability Management Platform Engineer to join our Chicago area team. The role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise vulnerability management, security configuration compliance, and cloud security across on-premises and cloud environments.

The engineer will work with Qualys, Wiz, Azure, and Kubernetes to strengthen security posture, automate workflows, and improve data quality.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, cybersecurity engineering, or related disciplines.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability management platforms (Qualys or equivalent) and troubleshooting.
Experience with Windows, Linux, networking, and cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure).

Responsibilities

Support, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise vulnerability management and security platforms (Qualys, Wiz, etc.).
Assist with vulnerability scanning infrastructure, agents, authentication, and scan configurations.
Support cloud security capabilities and vulnerability management in Azure and other environments.
Assist with Kubernetes/container security, image assessments, and platform integrations.
Develop Python scripts, APIs, and automation to improve platform efficiency.
Collaborate with VM Engineering to optimize automation and tooling.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and platform configurations.
