Job summary

Ahtna Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Guard to perform fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols, maintaining situational awareness and following post orders and facility rules.

The role involves working in austere conditions, patrolling buildings, screening entrants, and supporting events or emergencies as needed. The position requires English fluency, a valid State MA weapons carry permit, and successful completion of background, drug, and medical screenings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years in security or equivalent military experience and ability to certify with the State.
• Must have a State of Massachusetts weapons carry permit.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Pre-Hire Screening: pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences per post orders and protocols.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources; dispatch as needed.
• Report and address fire alarms, theft, vandalism, and suspicious activity; respond to incidents.
• Screen and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering/leaving the facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles as directed; control access and monitor RFID systems.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections; log property movements and maintain logs.
