Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Flex Rapid Shift Patrol in Union, NJ. The 30–40 hour schedule uses the Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift program to boost hours and income, with shifts posted weekly. You’ll patrol sites, monitor access, and support client safety while gaining diverse site experience.

Pay rate is $21.24 per hour. Requirements: at least 1 year of security experience, ability to work varied shifts including nights and weekends, reliable transportation, and a high school

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation is required for Branch Flex assignments.
• Must be available for last‑minute shift scheduling for Branch Flex assignments.
• Must be able to travel the required distance for Branch Flex assignments.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure proper removal of property
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders
