Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Operational Readiness in Union, NJ. The role offers 30-40 hours per week with a varied schedule, including manager-assigned and Earn More shift pickups.

You will support multiple sites, adapt to changing shifts, and contribute to a safe client environment while advancing within the company. Ideal candidates are at least 18 (21 for armed), have a high school diploma, can pass background checks and drug tests, and hold a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions creating security concerns or hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure authorized removal.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
