Job summary

Wesley Willows in Rockford, IL, is seeking a Security - Overnight professional to monitor and respond to alarm systems and maintain campus safety. The role runs 10:00 pm–6:30 am, with a full-time overnight schedule from Wednesday to Sunday, requiring strong vigilance and calm decision-making.

The incumbent will conduct temperature checks, manage waste and housekeeping tasks, patrol the campus, and coordinate with the Facilities Supervisor on special projects.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of experience in general building maintenance.
• Must be able to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
• Good mobility necessary to perform security checks on all areas of buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to all building and campus alarm systems, including resident medical emergencies.
• Conduct temperature checks in boiler rooms and kitchens to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
• Remove resident trash from hallways and empty garbage, recycling, and soiled linen bins each shift.
• Patrol the campus, noting open garage doors, unlit post lights, and suspicious individuals or vehicles. Take appropriate action, including questioning individuals or contacting law enforcement.
• Support resident relations by addressing concerns promptly, maintaining communication with the Facilities Supervisor, and completing assigned special projects.
• Completes maintenance work orders and other maintenance tasks as requested.
