Job summary

Virginia Housing Development Authority is seeking a Security Operations Specialist to support the Security Manager and Logistics Lead in building security, safety, and operational duties. The role will cover business continuity and technical support, with on-site work five days a week.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or equivalent with strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt priorities and meet deadlines.

• Associate degree/equivalent or several years of equivalent work experience in security operations, safety or logistics project management.
• Knowledge of concepts and terminology regarding security operations, business continuity, safety, fleet management, and facilities operations.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to change priorities without losing productivity and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
• Strong user skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
• Skill in composing routine correspondence and communicating verbally.
• Knowledge of and ability to learn computerized security software and asset management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to remain poised and courteous in busy environment.
• Associate degree/equivalent or several years of equivalent work experience.
• This position requires incumbents to drive for Virginia Housing business purposes. Therefore, incumbents must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and adhere to the standards outlined in the motor vehicle-related administrative regulations and Human Resources policies as a condition of continued employment.

This important role will primarily provide support to both the Security Manager and the Logistics Lead in the areas of Building Security, Safety and Technical Support, Business Continuity, and Operational Support. When either the Security Manager or Logistics Lead is unavailable, the Security Operations Associate will assume their routine daily responsibilities.

The ideal candidate would also have experience in:

• Preferably 5+ years in security operations, safety or logistics project management.

This position will close at midnight on 10/5/2026.

This position works on-site 5 days a week.

Hiring Range: $62,000 to $83,500.

A background and motor vehicle check will be performed as a condition of employment.

A Conflict-of-Interest Act Disclosure form and Secondary Employment Disclosure form will need to be completed as a condition of employment.

Virginia Housing requires associates to live and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
