Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) seeks a Project Manager to lead security services across CDC facilities. You will oversee contract execution, staffing, training, and compliance, with a focus on safeguarding personnel and assets.

Based in Fort Collins, CO, the role requires supervisory experience in security or law enforcement, knowledge of physical security operations, and the ability to coordinate between the CDC COR and contractor teams.

Qualifications

• Management / supervisory and operational experience in law enforcement and/or the security field.
• Knowledge of physical security operations: access control, security systems, and best practices.
• Experience delivering or managing security training programs.
• Strong proficiency in computer systems and operational applications.
• Must pass CDC background investigation.
• Must obtain CDC suitability approval.
• Federal security badge/suitability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the security guard contract and overall guard force operations.
• Ensure staffing requirements are met at all levels.
• Verify new guard personnel meet certifications and licensing requirements.
• Maintain certifications and licensing current for all security staff.
• Oversee training management, including ongoing refresher training.
• Develop and execute quarterly security exercises at all CDC facilities.
• Conduct and document After-Action Reviews (AARs) and submit to CDC COR.
• Provide supervision for all security personnel assigned to CDC facilities.
• Conduct weekly on-site post visits across shifts.
• Ensure high-quality training is delivered and maintained for all security personnel.
• Assign only suitable and qualified personnel to the contract.
• Maintain post orders and procedures with CDC COR liaison.
• Serve as liaison between Contractor and CDC COR on day-to-day matters.
• Ensure availability of PM or CDC-approved designee for emergencies.
