Job summary

The New York Racing Association seeks a Security Supervisor to lead shift security across Belmont Park, Saratoga, and related facilities. You will supervise sergeants and front-line officers, coordinate with the Joint Operations Center, and ensure compliance with NYRA policies and NYSGC regulations.

You will oversee incident reporting, equipment accountability, field inspections, and strategic planning to safeguard staff and patrons during racing operations, including emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field is required or at least 7 years of active security experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of incident investigation, asset protection and emergency response procedures.
• Proficiency in Incident Management Systems (IMS) and standard digital tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid, clean Driver’s License and willingness to travel between NYRA facilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of sergeants and coordination with Joint Operations Center (JOC).
• Review and approve officer reports in IMS for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and audit equipment issued to officers; maintain accountability.
• Inspect field personnel and security assignments; ensure proper operations.
• Assist in strategic planning for the uniformed force during racing operations.
• Escalate critical security incidents to Senior Director/VP of Security.
• Perform performance evaluations and support cross-shift collaboration.
