Job summary

AGS is seeking a detail-oriented Security Analyst to monitor, triage, and respond to security events within the AGS security program. This role also drives governance, risk, and compliance activities, maintains the risk register, coordinates with owners to propose remediation, and produces clear reports for technical and business audiences.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in security operations or GRC, familiarity with SIEM/EDR, and relevant security certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information security or IT.
• 2+ years in a security analyst, SOC, GRC, or IT operations role.
• Experience with SIEM and endpoint detection tools.
• Ability to document findings clearly for technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security tooling, dashboards, and alert queues for indicators of activity.
• Perform initial triage on alerts to determine validity, severity, and scope.
• Provide first-tier response per playbooks and escalate with a complete summary.
• Review employee-reported phishing and suspicious email analyses and actions.
• Manage email quarantine review and threat response activities.
• Maintain security event records in the enterprise ticketing system.
• Coordinate user access reviews with system and data owners; track remediation.
• Review vendor security docs and summarize findings for risk decisions.
• Drive day-to-day operation of the risk register with scoring and treatment.
• Conduct control gap assessments against NIST CSF, CIS, ISO 27001.
• Coordinate remediation verification with owners across systems.
• Support internal/external audits with evidence collection and requests.
• Present risk and control status to the Senior IT Security Manager.
• Assist with vulnerability reporting and remediation tracking.
• Produce recurring security activity updates and metrics.
• Support security awareness and tabletop exercises.
• Occasional travel throughout the United States.
