Job summary

K Health is seeking a Security Engineer to own hands-on SecOps, incident response, and IT security projects across our healthcare technology stack. You will automate tasks, build security controls, and respond to incidents to protect patient and organizational data.

Reporting to the Director of Security, you will work with cross-functional teams, maintain SOC2/HIPAA controls, and optimize endpoint policies in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role in New York.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Security Operations, IT Security, or System Administration with a strong security focus.
• Experience detecting, investigating, and remediating incidents in a modern cloud/hybrid environment.
• Deep IT background spanning endpoint administration (macOS/Windows), identity management, and network security.
• Experience maintaining controls for SOC2 and/or HIPAA in an operational setting.
• Hands-on automation of security or IT tasks using SOAR, scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash), or APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain SecOps workflows, threat detection, and incident response across our cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Build low-code automations to streamline security alerts and routine IT tasks.
• Administer and optimize security tools including Sumo Logic, Jamf, Intune, Slack Enterprise, CrowdStrike.
• Support SOC2 and HIPAA compliance, including audit prep and evidence gathering.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering to harden systems and enforce zero-trust endpoints.
• Perform root-cause analysis on incidents and implement preventative measures.
