Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst
Minerva Cyber Technologies is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to investigate security alerts and help operations teams respond consistently. You will validate suspicious activity, enrich cases with evidence, and maintain clear escalation and handoff records.
What You Will Do
- Triage alerts from SIEM monitoring, endpoint, identity, network, and cloud security tools.
- Correlate supporting evidence and document severity, scope, and investigative reasoning.
- Follow approved incident response playbooks and **escalate** cases that require specialist authority.
- Maintain accurate case records, shift handoffs, and incident communications.
- Identify recurring noise, missing telemetry, and opportunities to improve detections and playbooks.
Required Qualifications
- Experience analyzing security alerts in a security operations center (SOC) or comparable defensive operations environment.
- Ability to investigate logs and endpoint or network activity beyond basic alert forwarding.
- Understanding of incident escalation, evidence handling, and common attack behavior.
- Clear writing and disciplined use of case management and handoff procedures.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, cloud telemetry, or IT service management tools.
- CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GCIH, or comparable practical investigation skills.
