Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a SOC Analyst to support our cybersecurity team by monitoring networks for threats, investigating suspicious activities, implementing security controls, performing vulnerability scans, and assisting with incident response, all while learning advanced cybersecurity concepts under senior guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic for anomalies and potential breaches using security information and event management tools.
• Review system logs to identify and investigate security incidents.
• Identify, assess, and track vulnerabilities using scanning tools.
• Assist in creating security awareness training for employees.
• Help investigate and respond to security incidents, including containment and remediation.
• Apply software updates to address vulnerabilities.
• Manage user accounts and enforce authentication policies.
• Prepare documentation and reports for security assessments and audits.
• Configure and maintain security tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• Relevant coursework in network security, incident response, and ethical hacking.
• Experience with security tools and network security practices.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and management.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Certifications like CompTIA Security+ are a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell).
• Understanding of security frameworks and best practices.
• Ability to analyze logs and identify suspicious activity.
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
