Mechanics Bank is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our on-site team in California. The role provides first-line escalation for security events and supports securing employee access to systems.

You will perform threat analysis, incident response, and work with IT and security peers on projects, with regular communication to leadership. Travel is 0-10% and compensation reflects the California market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 1 year of experience as a Security/SOC Analyst or comparable role required.
• Industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Networks+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, CCNA, CEH are preferred.
• Recent graduates with industry certifications encouraged to apply.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and related apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead in security event analysis and intrusion detection (IDS/IPS) triage and remediation.
• Support security engineering on projects and implement security alerting improvements.
• Monitor and investigate network security alerts from MSPs and in-house tools.
• Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and guidelines for information security.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
