Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our on-site team in California. You will be the first level for security events, support alerting apps, and collaborate with IT and business units to maintain robust security.

Travel up to 10% is expected, with opportunities to work across departments on security projects. The role emphasizes incident response, threat research, and ongoing compliance with evolving security requirements.

Qualifications

• 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 1-year of experience as a Security/SOC Analyst or comparable role required.
• Industry Standard Certifications (CompTIA Security+; CISSP, CCNA, CEH) preferred.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office and security tooling.
• Threat analysis and incident response experience and knowledge of monitoring.
• Ability to communicate with senior management clearly and professionally.
• Willingness to travel 0-10% and participate in on-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Works with other departments to ensure policy compliance.
• Assist security engineering on security projects when required.
• Lead research on threats and remediation techniques and oversee implementation.
• Tier 1 for security event analysis and intrusion detection including triage and forensics.
• Support security standards development and maintenance for the network operations.
• Proactively monitor alerts from MSPs and in-house tools.
• Stay informed on laws, threats and regulations affecting information security.
• Effective communication with end users and senior management.
