Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our on-site security team in California. You will support access management, monitor security events, and help automate alerting across systems.

The role requires a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience), 1 year in a SOC-like role, and relevant industry certifications. You’ll work with cross-functional teams and communicate with management while travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; additional experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 1 year of experience as a Security/SOC Analyst or similar role required.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+/Net+/Security+, CISSP, CCNA, CEH preferred.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and security tools.
• Threat analysis and incident response; interpret events and analyze network traffic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the Support team for employee access and security events.
• Lead security research on threats; recommend remediation and oversee implementation.
• Tier 1 for security event analysis and intrusion detection; triage and forensics.
• Monitor alerts from providers and in-house tools; maintain security standards.
• Communicate findings to end users and senior management; travel 0-10%.
• Stay informed on laws, threats, and regulations affecting information security.
