Job summary

The City of Hialeah Municipal Government seeks an IT Security Analyst to manage day-to-day security operations, monitor threats, and lead response to security breaches across the city’s enterprise networks.

You will implement security controls, support incident response, and collaborate with staff to raise awareness. Strong knowledge of endpoint protection, firewalls, AD, and RFCs, plus relevant certifications, is expected; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum four years IT security, audit, or compliance experience.
• English & Spanish speaking preferred.
• Maintains one or more security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISM, CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CCSP, MTA/SF, CSX, CCNA-Security).
• Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and create enterprise security architecture, policies, incident response plans, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
• Promote security awareness and cybersecurity goals with City staff.
• Stay informed on IT security threats and solutions.
• Review, recommend, and implement security measures and enhancements.
• Deploy, integrate, and configure security solutions.
• Provide day-to-day support for the information security program across network, desktop, server, and mobile configurations.
• Design and maintain security controls and RBAC/MAC/DAC frameworks.
• Monitor threats and conduct vulnerability assessments; ensure operational efficiency.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate resolutions; ensure CIA of City information.
• Audit user access and defend against unauthorized access; maintain malware protection.
• Train employees in security awareness and respond with post-event analyses.
