Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors while following security procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct fixed and random patrols of assigned transit facilities and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally, and coordinate with site leadership and public agencies.
• Prepare incident reports and daily logs and communicate information to site leadership.

As a Security Officer Station Platform in Brooklyn, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned transit facilities, platforms, entrances, stairwells, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns through established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; request additional assistance when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and public agency personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
