Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned transit facilities, platforms, entrances, stairwells, and surrounding perimeters to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional manner; request assistance when appropriate.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity logs; communicate information to site leadership and public agency personnel.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
