The role involves patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, and surrounding areas to deter crime, document activities, and coordinate with UPOMC Police Officers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to document incidents on required reports.
• Maintain required security certifications and licensing.
• Willing to work second shift 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds and associated areas to deter criminal activity and document activities.
• Respond to and resolve problems, disputes and unusual circumstances; provide customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Report and document incidents, suspicious activities and hazards; monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms.
• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas; conduct patient escorts and stand-by details
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists; transport deceased to morgue/release bodies from morgue
• Operate UPMC vehicles in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain required certifications and licensing; complete mandatory training
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment. Document incidents on appropriate reports as required.
