Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Portsmouth, RI, to safeguard clients at an aerospace/defense location. You will perform unarmed patrols, verify access, and maintain a professional security presence while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to comply with background checks and drug screening where permitted by law. Schedule and site policies will guide daily duties.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Criminal history considered in line with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace/defense location by following site policies and security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Verify credentials and manage visitor access to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents and alarms, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear patrol and incident reports in accordance with site requirements.

• Wed: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to designated areas by verifying credentials, following visitor management procedures, and reporting access-control concerns in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
