Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer for a shipping warehouse location in Ankeny, IA. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor building access, and provide customer service to employees and visitors in a technology-focused environment.

The position offers a set schedule (Thu/Sat/Sun 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) with a pay rate of $18.80 per hour. All qualified applicants will be considered and background checks/drug screens apply, with licensing requirements per state.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by following security procedures and site policies.

• Monitor access, verify authorization, and report unauthorized access attempts or issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and report to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities with required reporting tools.

You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, monitor assigned areas, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Job Schedule

• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or access-control issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed by established procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly using required reporting tools.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
