Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Council Bluffs, IA. You will patrol, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service at a technology, media, and telecoms site.

This on-site role offers a flexible schedule via our Claim a Shift platform, with a pay rate of $18.80 per hour. Applicants must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles), pass background checks and a drug screen, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity and policy violations.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor credentials, and report unauthorized entry attempts or access-control concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify designated personnel and emergency responders.
• Maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, communicating with site contacts and leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, access points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, facility concerns, and policy violations.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized entry attempts or access-control concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and promptly notify designated personnel and/or emergency responders as required.
• Maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports while communicating professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
