Allied Universal in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Security Officer for part-time overnight shifts. You will patrol residential common areas, greet residents and visitors, and enforce access-control procedures while maintaining professional customer service.

Position details include overnight schedule (Sat 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Sun 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and pay rate of $18.20 per hour. Requirements: at least 1 year in security, a guard card, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to pass

• Background check and drug screen required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and visitors by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry/exit points and verify authorization for access; maintain records.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of residential areas, parking, entry points, and perimeter.
• Maintain accurate logs and communicate information to site management.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, and maintain visitor, vendor, and delivery records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Maintain clear, accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required.
• Be at least 21+ years of age for role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
