A leading healthcare system in Maryland seeks a full-time Security Officer to protect its facilities and ensure safety for patients and staff. The role involves patrolling, responding to security needs, and maintaining a secure environment. Security Officer, Upper Chesapeake Health - Aberdeen, full time, evenings
Shift: 3PM - 11:30PM, every other weekend
Protects the hospital, its assets, patients, team members, and visitors. Patrols hospital grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and other crimes. Unlocks and secures hospital buildings and offices. Responds to security needs of hospital team members, physicians, patients, and visitors. Interacts with patients, families, and visitors across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.

Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year of related experience (military, security, law enforcement, etc.) preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret security reports. Capable of solving practical problems and managing various situations. Must interpret instructions in written, oral, or scheduled formats. Able to work effectively under pressure during emergencies. Must possess excellent service skills and be able to intervene with physically aggressive individuals.
