A leading healthcare system in Maryland seeks a full-time Security Officer to ensure safety and security for patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes patrolling the hospital grounds, responding to emergencies, and providing excellent service. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and prior security experience.
Security Officer, Upper Chesapeake Health - Aberdeen, Full-Time, Evenings
Schedule: 3PM – 11:30PM, every other weekend
The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the hospital, its assets, patients, team members, and visitors. This role involves patrolling the hospital and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and other crimes. The officer unlocks and secures hospital buildings and offices, responds to security needs of hospital staff, physicians, patients, and visitors, and interacts with individuals ranging from newborns to the elderly.

Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior related experience (military, security, law enforcement, etc.) of at least one year preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret security reports; solve practical problems; interpret instructions in various formats; work effectively under pressure, especially during emergencies; demonstrate excellent service skills; and intervene with physically aggressive individuals.
