Job summary

UPMC Wellsboro is seeking a Full-Time Night Shift Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff. The role primarily operates 7p–7a with weekend rotation, patrolling hospital properties and responding to alarms and incidents.

A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered for a two-year commitment. Candidates will maintain certifications and provide customer service to maintain a safe environment while coordinating with UPMC Police when needed.

Qualifications

• Night shift experience preferred.
• Ability to respond to alarms and emergencies following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft.
• Respond to and resolve problems, disputes and unusual circumstances.
• Maintain required certifications and licensing.
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists.
• Transport deceased to morgue/release bodies from morgue (where applicable).
• Monitor alarms and environmental systems; respond to alarms and assist as needed.
• Establish a visible security presence by patrolling facilities and contacting law enforcement when necessary.

Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds and associated areas to deter criminal activity, document activities, and contact UPMC Police Officers or other appropriate law enforcement when necessary. Monitors security, fire, and environmental alarms. Responds to and resolves problems, disputes and unusual circumstances as necessary. Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment. Document incidents on appropriate reports as required.
