Job summary

Magee - Women’s Hospital of UPMC is hiring a Full Time Security Officer. This position will work NIGHT shifts with weekend and holiday availability required to support hours of operation.

Responsibilities include patrolling hospital properties, monitoring alarms, assisting with traffic and escorts, and ensuring a safe environment for patients, families, visitors and staff. Excellent benefits and a friendly team are highlighted in the listing.

• Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft
• Respond to and resolve problems, disputes and unusual circumstances
• Maintain required certifications and licensing
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists
• Transport deceased to morgue/release bodies from morgue
• Monitor alarms (security, fire, environmental) and respond as needed
• Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling hospital properties and contact police when necessary
• Conduct patient escorts and stand-by details
• Complete mandatory training per guidelines
• Report and document incidents and hazards

Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff and all UPMC owned and adjacent properties. Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds and associated areas to deter criminal activity, document activities, and contact UPMC Police Officers or other appropriate law enforcement when necessary. Monitors security, fire, and environmental alarms. Responds to and resolves problems, disputes and unusual circumstances as necessary. • Operate UPMC vehicles in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code
