Carnegie Mellon University's Police Department (UPD) is seeking motivated Security Officers to serve the CMU community. This role requires flexibility in work hours, including mandated overtime and regular shifts.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Conduct watchperson rounds to ensure safety and security of campus buildings and areas.
2. Report suspicious activity or conditions immediately.
3. Provide escorts to students, staff, and faculty.
4. Assist campus police officers as needed.
5. Provide information to university personnel and visitors.
6. Perform foot patrols in all weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Security-related experience preferred.

Requirements:

• Successful background check.
• Child Protection Clearances (Act 153).
• Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Credit check.
• Security Clearance: Must pass background investigation and obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) based in Pittsburgh, PA.
