Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Unarmed Patrol at a government waterfront location in Portsmouth, VA. • Monitor access to restricted areas by verifying authorization and following visitor procedures; report access-control concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations; document observations and reports as required.
• Deter unauthorized activity with a professional presence and coordinate with site contacts and emergency responders.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or maritime personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned waterfront facilities, buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas, observing and reporting unusual conditions or potential hazards.
• Monitor access to restricted areas by verifying authorized entry, following visitor and contractor procedures, and reporting access-control concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and complete required reports in accordance with site procedures.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity through a professional presence, maintain communication with site contacts and/or emergency responders, and support orderly operations at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
