Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a dedicated Security Officer Unarmed Site Patrol in Smithton, PA. You will provide attentive customer service, patrol the retail location, deter incidents, and support a safe, welcoming environment for shoppers and staff.

You will perform routine patrols, respond to incidents, and coordinate with store leadership as needed while upholding Allied Universal’s values of integrity, teamwork, and service.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old (unarmed) or 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Criminal histories considered in compliance with laws.
• Drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, employees, and visitors following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, concerns, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the store and surrounding areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations, documenting observations.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and coordination with store leadership.

A Security Officer Unarmed Site Patrol in Smithton, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and team members. You will respond to concerns, communicate clearly, and provide exceptional customer service while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-focused, and integrity-driven values.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail store, sales floor, stock areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious behavior, potential hazards, and policy violations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and coordination with store leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
