Security Officer Unarmed - Security - St. Charles Hospital

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Work Shift: Evenings/Nights (United States of America)

This position will support St. Charles Hospital and may also support other Mercy Health Hospitals in the Toledo Metro Area.

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the hospital. Responsibilities include making periodic checks of the property to ensure safety and security, maintaining awareness of surroundings to identify illegal activities, fire, or other hazards, and responding to emergency situations to provide assistance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Proven dependability and consistency.
2. Pre-employment records check by Toledo Police (small non-refundable fee).
3. Pass a pre-employment physical including a strength capacity test.
4. Physical ability to walk long distances, perform in inclement weather, and handle daily repetitive duties.
5. Reliable telephone and transportation.
6. Crisis intervention training (offered after hiring if not already completed).

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 120 hours of Ohio Peace Officers training or comparable law enforcement education, or two years of active duty as a military police officer.
• Valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
