This position will support St. Charles Hospital and may also support other Mercy Health Hospitals in the Toledo Metro Area.

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the hospital. They make periodic checks of the property to ensure safety and security, remain aware of their surroundings, watch for illegal activities, fire, or other hazards, and respond to emergencies to assist those in need.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven dependability and consistency
• Pre-employment records check by Toledo Police (small non-refundable fee)
• Pass a pre-employment physical including a strength capacity test
• Physical ability to walk long distances, work in inclement weather, and perform repetitive duties
• Reliable telephone and transportation
• Crisis intervention training (offered after hire if not already completed)

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 120 hours of Ohio Peace Officers training or comparable law enforcement education, or two years of active duty as military police
• Valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years
