Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Defuniak Springs, FL. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access, and delivering excellent customer service at a busy logistics location.

You will maintain a visible security presence, respond calmly to incidents, and follow site procedures to protect people and assets. The position is full-time with a consistent early-morning schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years of security-related experience or more.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background checks and drug screening as required by law.

Pay Rate: $16.54 / Hour

• Fri: 03:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• Sat: 03:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• Sun: 03:00 AM - 11:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, delivery-yard concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry for personnel and visitors, and document security-related observations, incidents, and unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Help maintain an orderly environment around package-handling and shipping operations while following applicable site policies and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
