Allied Universal in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Readiness) to monitor client sites, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to shoppers and staff while upholding company values. You will perform regular unarmed patrols, manage access points, respond to security concerns, and report incidents clearly to site leadership, helping maintain a welcoming environment.

Pay rate is $20.50/hour; shifts Sat-Sun mornings.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols throughout retail areas, common areas, exterior walkways, and perimeter to deter incidents.

• Sat 05:30 AM - 01:30 PM
• Sun 05:30 AM - 01:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, common areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
