Job summary

Allied Universal in Torrance, CA is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Incident Prevention to protect our clients across Tech/Media/Telecom environments. You will patrol, monitor access, deter incidents, and deliver strong customer service while following site protocols.

The role is full-time, pays $20.50 per hour, and requires age 18+, high school diploma, background check, drug screen, and valid driver's license where applicable. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, production areas, offices, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and document incidents accurately.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with site personnel and following client protocols.

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and team members, and support a welcoming environment. • Mon: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Wed: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Thur: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Fri: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology‑focused workplace.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, production areas, offices, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support site policies.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with site personnel and following Allied Universal and client‑specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
